Neolithic pottery from the Gansu Privincial Museum in Lanzhou

These are some of the pots that were on display during our visit to the museum. Do to limited time, I did not get to identify each as I took photographs and so cannot authoritatively place them in their appropritate culture except for those that are featured and identified in the catalog: Painted Pottery from Gansu. The pieces pictured here are from the Majiayao culture (three continuous cultures of the Majiayao, Banshan, and Machang, all dating from about 5000 to 4000 BP), the Qijia Culture 4200 - 3700 BP, the Xindian Culture 3400 - 2800 BP, and the Shajing Culture 3000 - 2600 BP.
